The IUI procedure for treating infertility
The Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) is offered at our center as the first line of treatment for many patients dealing with infertility. This procedure is not considered an advanced reproductive technology, actually, this is one of the oldest procedures. This process involves the use of a catheter to aid the insertion of cleared sperm cell inside the uterus. This enhances the chances of pregnancy. We generally perform this treatment for couples who are dealing with problems like low sperm motility, very low sperm cell count and any sexual dysfunctions.
The IUI can be performed at a very cheap rate and easily. At our center we ensure, the patient has minimal discomfort while the IUI is being performed. We take good care while preparing the sperm before insemination. Most of the inflammatory factors usually present in the semen are eliminated. Therefore, when the sperm is inserted into the uterus any possibilities of inflammatory reaction within the uterus that can affect fertilization is minimized.
As you can understand, the procedure of IUI is not complicated so it is performed by many fertility centers. The success rate of a fertility center should be the ideal criterion for getting this done. Again, the success rate is largely dependent on the skill and expertise of the doctor. Information on the fertility centers capable of increasing the likelihood of pregnancy once IUI has been completed can be gathered from the CDC website.
We understand, there are many couples who do not have the slightest of an idea about IUI. We make sure to discuss the pros and cons of this procedure with the prospective couples. This makes it a lot easier for them to become mentally prepared. For any fertilization procedure to become successful the treatment has to be perfect, we take special care and make arrangements to determine the best days when the chances of fertilization will be ideal. We are always open to discuss this subject with our patients this leads them to become more confident to undergo the IUI.
